The need: An opportunity existed for an Electronics design and Manufacturing (Automotive Electronics) organisation to train its team leaders to respond to process problems and improve efficiency of their processes.
The approach: An initial team of consultants from BPQ consulting and Durban University of Technology, provided the right blend of experienced industry consulting and Industrial Engineering theory to develop and deliver a program on Lean Implementation for Supervisors, which included Communications, Introduction to Lean, Performance Management, Visual Management. The trainees implemented projects to demonstrate understanding of the theory.
The result: The trainees were able to Implement improvement projects and present the projects to their management team successfully.
The need: The client was preparing to embark on a journey that would dramatically transform the way they did business by implementing an ERP solution. Although they had selected a packaged solution to replace several stand-alone systems, the processes they had in place where not mapped and documented.
The approach: An initial team of consultants from BPQ consulting and EOH Management Consulting provided the necessary resources to map, document and manage change within the company’s processes, in preparation for ERP implementation. This involved mapping sessions with teams from every process within the organisation.
The result: The organisation received a comprehensive set of documents detailing all areas of their business, which were used for ERP implementation.
The need: A Software-as-Service organisation with three sub divisions had the need to implement ISO 9001 Quality Management systems to improve reliability of their service, to develop well defined and documented procedures to improve the consistency of output, and to measure and improve quality constantly.
The approach: A consultant from BPQ Consulting facilitated the process to map, document and implement the ISO 9001 Quality Management System for the holding company and its sub-divisions. Certification was obtained with no non-conformances at both Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits. Management Support was also provided to the client after certification.
The result: A successful implementation of ISO 9001 and continued Management Representative Support ensured a very pleased client who is able to sustain and continuously improve their business.
The need: Six Sigma training was provided, by an external consultant, to an automotive tyre manufacturer. Projects were undertaken by trainees and project reviews for belt certifications were required.
The approach: BPQ Consulting conducted project reviews for Green belt certification and submitted project review reports to the external consultant.
The result: Successful Six Sigma training with certified Green Belts was achieved.
The need: A tertiary institute in Durban, Durban University of Technology, required Six Sigma awareness training for their senior Industrial Engineering students.
The approach: BPQ Consulting provided guest lectures on the Lean Six Sigma Methodology to students.
The result: Successful Six Sigma awareness training presented. A keen interest in the subject was generated.
